New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Interior, Redesign, Price   –   With the release of the 2024 E-Ray, Chevrolet is bringing the Corvette E-Ray into the electrified future. The sports car’s long-rumored hybrid variant packs 655 horsepower and all-wheel drive (AWD). What you should know about the 2024 Corvette E-Ray electric model is provided below.

The track-focused Corvette E-Ray Z06 and the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray share a similar aesthetic. With its wide-body appearance similar to that of the Z06, the electric sports car is 3.6 inches wider than the normal Stingray. The sports car will be available in 14 different exterior paint finishes, including some brand-new colors for 2024 including Seawolf Gray, Cacti, and Riptide Blue.

Exterior and Interior

Chevy’s new Artemis Dipped interior, which characterizes the green hues used throughout the cabin, is standard on the all-new E-Ray. Coupe versions of the E-Ray have a detachable roof, just like previous Corvette E-Rays. With a trunk capacity of 12.5 cubic feet, the E-Ray’s cargo capacity is somewhat reduced in comparison to other versions due to the hybrid drivetrain.

Not every aspect of the E-Ray has been confirmed by Chevrolet yet. The sports vehicle should have the same technological features as existing Corvette E-Rays. Expected standard features include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, eight-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ten audio speakers, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, HD radio, and two USB ports.

To set it apart from other Corvette E-Ray models, the E-Ray comes with a special body-length stripe kit in Electric Blue. The E-Ray is available with optional carbon fiber wheels. All things considered, the 2024 E-Ray’s pointed exhaust, broad rear end, huge air intakes, and quad exhaust outlets are similar to those of the Z06.

Engine and Performance

A 6.2-liter V8 engine powers the 2024 E-Ray’s back wheels, while an electric motor mounted on the front axle powers the vehicle’s front wheels. A total of 655 horsepower is rated for the output. The E-Ray’s hybrid drivetrain weighs 300 pounds more than the Z06’s, yet it accelerates to 60 mph faster—2.5 seconds—than the Z06. With that number, it’s the fastest Corvette E-Ray ever made. With a lithium-ion battery pack weighing 1.9 kWh, the E-Ray can travel five kilometers on electricity alone. With its special Stealth Mode variant, the E-Ray can travel up to 45 mph entirely on electricity.

A further radical rethink is evident inside the Corvette E-Ray’s cockpit, which wraps aggressively around the pilot and sequesters the right-side rider behind a sweeping wall of climate controls. Snugged between that and the steering wheel are a single infotainment screen, a push-button shifter, and a dial for accessing the vehicle’s various drive modes.

It’s clearly a cabin that was conceived first and foremost for the driver, as passengers are in tough to reach over the abutment to their left and make use of the Corvette E-Ray’s touchscreen (and are destined to unwillingly interact with its heating and cooling systems by way of their elbow or forearm). Although the closed-in right side of the car is somewhat more claustrophobic than the other, in general, it’s a comfortable environment suitable for long-distance touring. With more power and only a slight weight increase, you might be confident that the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray outperforms its elder, and you would be right: with a 0–100 km/h time of less than three seconds (when equipped with the Z51 performance package), the 495 horsepower coupe’s launch control makes short work of any stoplight battle. Curiously, that same explosive acceleration off the line is absent when hammering the gas pedal at higher rates of speed. Above 100 km/h, the C8’s acceleration does not snap your neck back, and although it makes a glorious noise from its quad tailpipes, it never manages to feel as lively as the C7 did when pushed above the legal limit. It’s a matter-of-fact turn from the drivetrain that normalizes speed while mellowing the rush of past Corvette E-Rays.

Another major change to the Corvette E-Ray’s character is its move to a single automatic transmission choice. This dual-clutch, eight-speed unit (developed in partnership with Tremec) is intended to impress with its ability to execute gear changes much more rapidly than any clutch-pedal-equipped car ever could. Its superhuman cog swaps can be accomplished without human interference via a number of painstakingly programmed algorithms, or via a set of paddles attached to the steering wheel.

Whether this matters to you or not will depend on whether you are a member of the one percent. No, not the upper income bracket, but rather the vanishingly small slice of new car buyers who prefer a manual transmission. Chevrolet claims that to configure the Corvette E-Ray to feature a traditional shift-it-yourself gearbox would have resulted in a less than ideal driver experience due to the details of its transaxle placement.

Making up for the loss of a stick is, well, a much bigger “stick” in the form of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from a dry-sump equipped 6.2-litre V8 engine. Dubbed the LT2, those figures come with the car’s performance exhaust option, which Chevrolet is confident nine out of ten owners will order.
