2026 Chevy Traverse Specs, Interior, Price
2026 Chevy Traverse Specs, Interior, Price – Since minivans are becoming less popular as family vehicles, a plethora of high-quality three-row SUVs have entered the market. As a result, the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is now a serious contender among minivans. Reason being, it has a roomier third row compared to its competitors.
The base price of the Traverse LS starts at $41,843 in Canada and comes standard with all-wheel drive (AWD). On top of that, there is a non-negotiable delivery charge of $1,900. This pricing does not include taxes either. As LT True North’s driver, I received $51,198 in compensation. Due to the availability of optional extras like wheels and paint, the price of my tester increased to $55,243 before taxes were applied.

Exterior and Interior
Compared to the LT, the True North is superior and has many more features. Features such as a motorized tailgate that can be adjusted in height, heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, a remote starter, and an eight-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all part of the package. A power-folding mirror, a sunroof with two panes, a 120 volt power outlet, a passenger seat that can be motorized, a premium radio, GPS, a surround-view camera, and leather upholstery are all standard on the base model of the True North. Rubber cargo liners and a cargo tray are just two of the Canada-specific features of the True North. This vehicle also has three rows of seats. Also, check out True North if you’re thinking about taking a road trip across Canada.

The Traverse’s bulk is most noticeable when parking, but don’t let that put you off; it’s responsive and comfy. This is plain to see even from a ways off. You may unwind when you round corners thanks to the body roll, which you can control precisely. People who aren’t picky about how sporty a ride is are the target market for this product because they prioritize relaxation and enjoyment over all else.
The front wheels are typically controlled by the all-wheel drive system, but if it senses less traction, it can send power to the back wheels as well. When compared to other all-wheel drive vehicles, the Chevrolet Traverse stands out because it allows the driver to activate and deactivate the system independently. Even while I don’t find this to be a particularly practical capacity, the Traverse is capable of doing it. The fuel savings from driving with front-wheel drive would be negligible, and in bad weather, you won’t have all-wheel traction if you don’t switch to all-wheel drive. The option that would result in the largest savings on gas would be front-wheel drive.
Engine and Performance
The 3.6-liter V6 engine is standard across all Traverse trim levels. This engine has the ability to produce 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with a nine-speed automated transmission and all-wheel drive. This engine produces more horsepower than the Telluride’s V6 and the Subaru Ascent’s turbocharged four-cylinder. On top of the 300 horsepower produced by the Explorer’s standard 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, there’s also an option for a turbocharged V6 engine that can provide up to 400 horsepower.
The 3.6-liter engine is a good choice for the larger and heavier Traverse, but I’ve ridden with it in the smaller Blazer and it’s far more powerful. While quick acceleration does make the engine make a little noise, passing on the highway is no problem at all. Comfortable and well-balanced, the ride has zero jerkiness when moving gears. Nevertheless, the Explorer’s maximum towing capacity can range from 2,404 kg (5,300 lb) to 2,540 kg (5,600 lb), depending on the engine selection. Both the Telluride and the Traverse are capable of towing up to 2,268 kilograms (5,000 pounds), the same limit as the Traverse. With the True North, you can easily find your way to your trailer thanks to its numerous camera perspectives, one of which is located on the hitch.
2026 Chevy Traverse Fuel Economy
Traverse fuel efficiency figures for urban driving are 13.6 L/100 km, highway driving is 9.6 L/100 km, and mixed driving is 11.8 L/100 km. An official rating is derived from both city and highway driving. During the week I was on it, my average fuel consumption was 12.6 gallons per hundred kilometers. That is hardly a terrible showing in the three-row division, even though there are competitors who perform better. In mixed-use driving, the turbocharged four-cylinder Explorer achieves 10.3 liters per hundred kilometers, while the regular Explorer and Traverse both have 11.8 liters per hundred kilometers for the V6. A tiny car with a mighty punch, the Subaru Ascent manages 10.5 liters per hundred kilometers on the road while utilizing its all-wheel drive system. 2026 Chevy Traverse Specs
2026 Chevy Traverse Safety Features
However, the Traverse comes out on top in crash tests, earning a “Good” grade. Even though the 2026 Traverse has received five stars in every available review, many American consumers have yet to test drive the vehicle with its updated front end. Despite the fact that the NHTSA has not evaluated the vehicle just yet, this remains true. Several driver aid systems are standard on the LT. Among the many features offered by True North are improved emergency braking capabilities while traveling at high speeds, a 360-degree camera, and a rearview mirror that can be used normally or flipped to provide a video image of what’s behind the vehicle. True North is where you’ll find all of these items. The positioning of the camera in the rear of the vehicle ensures that your field of vision will not be obscured by the heads of passengers in the third row, albeit it may require some adjustment.
While the majority of the assist functions were faultless, the emergency front braking system had a tendency to be little overly forceful on occasion. I wasn’t even close to passing any of the cars around me, and there were a few instances when it slammed on the brakes when it wasn’t needed to. 2026 Chevy Traverse Specs
2026 Chevy Traverse Price and Release Date
Not adding the $1,900 for delivery, the pricing range of the Traverse might be anything from $41,843 to $62,643. Customers may choose from a variety of reasonably priced choices, and it has greater cargo space and third-row legroom than many of its competitors. Perceived value is the sole variable that needs to be addressed when the interior does not match the top trims. 2026 Chevy Traverse Specs
Explorer prices start at $48,694 and reach as high as $68,404 for the Platinum trim level, in contrast to the Telluride’s $48,890 to $58,590 (not including delivery) price range. The Telluride is available at a wide range of price points. There are a lot of options available for the Subaru Ascent, thus the price can be anywhere from $39,170 to $53,670.
